Toasted Breadcrumbs

A great way to use up stale bread is to run them through the food processor to use as breadcrumbs. It helps to reduce food waste and you have the added benefit of knowning exactly what is in your breadcrumbs.

Simply place stale bread in your food processor and pulse until pieces are small. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees and spread your crumbs out in as thin a layer as possible. Bake for 5 minutes, stir, and repeat until crumbs have lost their moisture. After cooling, store in an air tight container. You can freeze for up to 3 months for later use!
